Vagifem® patient educational toolkit

Challenge

Vagifem® is a treatment for vaginal atrophy (dryness) in postmenopausal women. Vaginal atrophy is a chronic condition, however as many as 50% of women initiated on Vagifem® will stop their therapy within 6 months due to improved symptoms. Novo Nordisk asked W to develop patient materials to be used by healthcare providers (HCP) to educate patients on the condition.

Solution

As with any chronic condition, patient education is crucial. W developed a comprehensive toolkit for prescribers to help them educate patients on their condition and to provide them with the rationale to why they had been prescribed Vagifem®. It is hoped by providing patients with a greater understanding of the condition and their treatment, this will lead to improved adherence to Vagifem® therapy.

Result

The Vagifem® patient educational toolkit was developed in collaboration with a key opinion leader and includes a number of educational items. The toolkit includes a KOL covering letter, disease awareness website information, Vagifem® leaflet, HCP referral letter, clinic appointment card and a symptom diary card.
